Counsel and experts regularly appear before various courts in ongoing disputes. But are they putting their evidence and arguments before the court in the way that the court wants to receive it? Are there any practices parties should avoid?

The Society of Construction Law North America is pleased to host a panel with three different members of the Alberta judiciary, each with a unique role within the court system, to provide their input on these issues. Topics such as trends in the use of expert evidence for summary judgment, and the extent to which counsel should be involved in preparing expert reports will be discussed. This presentation will provide practical tips for both counsel and expert witnesses to ensure they are putting their best foot forward in court.
